Recently, the 2022 China National Light Industry Council Science and Technology Award Ceremony hosted by the China National Light Industry Council and the All China Federation of Handicraft Cooperation was held in Xiamen. The project "Self reinforced manufacturing technology and application of multi-layer co extrusion blown film based on low-carbon concept" jointly developed by South China University of Technology, Dongguan Zhengxin Packaging Products Co., Ltd. and Siiico Technology Co., Ltd. won the first prize of the China National Light Industry Council Science and Technology Invention Award.

The Science and Technology Award of the China Light Industry Federation is the highest science and technology award in China's light industry, with the qualification to recommend national science and technology awards. It aims to recognize organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in scientific research, technological innovation and development, as well as the promotion of scientific research achievements and the realization of high-tech industrialization in the field of national light industry. This award is known as the "Medal of Honor" of China's light industry.

Plastic film plays an extremely important role in the fields of national economy, national defense and military industry. In 2021, China's production of film products exceeded 16 million tons, but due to a lack of recycling technology, the reuse rate of waste film is less than 30%. The petroleum based plastic film industry is facing technological bottlenecks such as high manufacturing energy consumption, difficulty in fragile recycling, and low added value for regeneration. Resource, energy, and environmental issues are prominent, seriously constraining the sustainable development of related industries.

The "Composite Film Manufacturing Technology and Application Based on Low Carbon Concept" project, jointly developed by Xinglian Technology and Academician Qu Jinping from South China University of Technology, as well as Dongguan Zhengxin Packaging Products Co., Ltd., fully explores the performance potential of raw material macromolecular chains. Through the design and control of molecular chain interweaving orientation structure in the multi-layer film co extrusion blow molding process, the self enhancement of the multi-layer film manufacturing process is achieved, While reducing manufacturing energy consumption, we have successfully solved international challenges in the extreme manufacturing of ultra-thin, high-strength, multi-layer co extrusion blown film, and developed a series of low-carbon film products such as 10 micron thick high-strength ground film, reduced heavy-duty packaging film, and heavy-duty packaging film containing waste film recycling materials.

The main innovative technologies of this project include energy-saving and consumption reducing short process manufacturing technology for multi-layer co extruded films, integrated design and manufacturing technology for reduced film autofrettage, and high-performance cyclic remanufacturing technology for waste multi-layer films. The project technology has obtained 12 Chinese invention patent authorizations and 2 PCT patents. Currently, it has been authorized by countries such as the United States, Japan, Europe, Russia, and South Korea; The technological achievements formed have been identified as "at an international leading level".

This technology has been industrialized and applied in fields such as high-strength plastic film, heavy-duty packaging film, and packaging film containing recycled film materials. In the past three years, it has generated economic benefits of over 5 billion yuan, reduced CO ₂ emissions by 770000 tons, broken through the bottleneck of sustainable development technology in related industries, and constructed a green circular economy technology chain industry chain for blown film related industries.

At present, Siiico Technology has successfully utilized this technology to achieve the production and high-value utilization of "high-strength, weather resistant, and easily recyclable plastic film (Gaobao film)". Siiico Technology Agricultural Film Co., Ltd. and Maigaiti Siiico Technology Agricultural Film Co., Ltd., which are controlled by Siiico Technology, have successfully built a circular industry base for the production, application, recycling, cleaning, granulation, and high-value reuse of high barrier film in Xinjiang, providing high-quality farmland construction, agricultural non-point source pollution control The protection of agricultural ecological environment and the construction of beautiful rural areas provide a model that can be referenced, replicated, and promoted.
